Painted in 1848 while Alexandre Cabanel was refining his signature romantic-academic style at the Villa Medici in Rome, Alexandre Cabanel’s The Evening Angel (L’Ange du Soir) expresses a quiet, contemplative mood. The celestial figure floats gently against the soft golden and dusk-toned sky, embodying peace, protection, and spiritual elegance. The original gem-like canvas is preserved in the Musée Fabre in Montpellier, France.
Recreated by senior fine art specialists at Dafen Village Oil Painting Studio, this reproduction is crafted strictly by hand on heavy-duty linen canvas. We never employ digital printing, canvas overlays, or mechanical shortcuts. Utilizing classical academic techniques—including subtle underdrawing, smooth blending, and delicate multi-pass oil glazing—our artists faithfully capture the soft light transitions, harmonious colors, and tranquil essence of Cabanel’s original painting.
