In the heart of Da Fen Village, where the scent of oil paint fills the air and sunlight spills across hundreds of easels, one of our senior artists began a new challenge — recreating Albert Bierstadt’s masterpiece “The Rocky Mountains, Lander’s Peak.”

The original painting, completed in 1863, is celebrated as one of the most majestic landscapes in American art — vast skies, glimmering lakes, and the towering Rocky Mountains illuminated by divine light. Bierstadt painted it after his travels with explorers across the American West, capturing both the grandeur of nature and the quiet reverence of Indigenous life along the valley.

When our artist in Da Fen Village started this museum-quality reproduction, he spent days studying the light transitions — from the golden glow over the peaks to the transparent reflections in the water. Layer by layer, he rebuilt Bierstadt’s vision using finest Belgian linen, pure linseed oil, and natural pigments. Every stroke was guided by respect — not merely copying, but reviving the emotion that once inspired the original.

“When I painted the light touching the mountains,” he said, “I felt as if I was standing there myself — breathing the same air Bierstadt once saw.”

This reproduction is more than a painting. It is a handcrafted bridge between centuries — connecting 19th-century romanticism and today’s collectors who seek authenticity and soul in every brushstroke.

At Da Fen Village Oil Painting Studio, we believe that great art should not only be admired in museums but also brought to life again on canvas — for homes, galleries, and those who love the timeless beauty of oil painting.
