Created during the golden age of Suprematism between 1915 and 1916, Malevich’s Suprematist Composition (housed in the Tula Regional Museum of Fine Arts) represents the ultimate liberation of color and form from the constraints of real-world representation. Malevich arranged trapezoids, parallelograms, and rectangles across a stark off-white background, tilting them along diagonal axes to simulate cosmic gravity, movement, and floating energy fields. This work embodies Malevich’s philosophy of “pure feeling in creative art.”
