PROPERTY FROM A PRIVATE COLLECTION: Canaletto – A Venetian Capriccio with an Oval Church by the Lagoon | Hand-Painted Oil Painting Reproduction

About the Masterpiece

Hailing from an exclusive private collection, this enchanting work by Giovanni Antonio Canal, known as Canaletto (1697–1768), showcases the artist’s inventive genius in the Capriccio genre.

Rather than painting a topographically strict scene, Canaletto merges real Venetian atmosphere with an imagined architectural masterpiece—an elegant oval church set right along the quiet edge of the Lagoon. Bathed in soft Mediterranean sunlight, the composition contrasts classical stone geometry against gentle water reflections, fishing boats, and serene figures, embodying the poetic fantasy of 18th-century Venice.

L'excellence artisanale du village de peinture à l'huile de Dafen

We reject flat digital canvas prints. Every oil painting in our collection is painstakingly painted from scratch by veteran painters in our Atelier d'art du village de Dafen:

• Glaçures à l'huile superposées: Traditional glaze application creates rich physical brushstrokes, multi-dimensional depth, and vibrant color dynamics that age gracefully over time.

• Toile de lin de qualité musée: Painted on heavy, archival-quality natural linen canvas to guarantee structural stability and resistance to cracking.

• Architectural & Spatial Harmony: Canaletto’s signature perspective, fine stone lines, and subtle play of shadow across the lagoon are rendered with exact mathematical precision.
