


Jiang Hancheng (born 1950s) is a renowned Chinese painter and art educator known for his expertise in both traditional Chinese painting and oil painting.
He graduated in 1978 from the Chinese Painting Department of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, and further completed advanced studies in oil painting (1982) and figure painting (1998) at the same academy.
From 1978, Jiang worked as an art editor and creator at the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department. Between 1980 and 2014, he dedicated over three decades to art organization and creation at the Shenzhen Cultural Center, where he served as Head of the Fine Arts and Photography Department.
As an influential figure in the Shenzhen art scene, Jiang Hancheng was:
- Executive Director of the Shenzhen Artists Association
- Founder and organizer of the Shenzhen Chinese Painting Research Society (1985–1995)
- Founder and administrator of the Shenzhen Correspondence University of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy (1986–1990), also known as the Shenzhen Academy of Painting and Calligraphy Arts
- Council Member of the Guangdong Lianhuanhua (Comic Book) Research Association
Currently, Jiang holds the title of National First-Class Artist. He is also:
- Member of the China Artists Association (CAA)
- Advisor to the Futian District Artists Association, Luohu District Artists Association, Yantian District Artists Association, and the Dafen Village Artists Association in Shenzhen
With decades of experience bridging traditional Chinese art and contemporary oil painting, Jiang Hancheng continues to contribute actively to the art community through teaching, curation, and original artworks.
