Hand-Painted Oil Painting Reproduction “Florentine Poet” by Alexandre Cabanel – Dafen Village Studio

Exhibited to great acclaim at the Paris Salon of 1861, La obra de Alexandre Cabanel Florentine Poet (Le Poète Florentin) captures the romantic nostalgia for the Italian Renaissance that swept 19th-century French Academic art. Set against a luminous landscape, a youthful troubadour plays his lute while reading poetry to a group of elegantly dressed young Florentine men and women. Cabanel showcases his virtuosic control of light, vibrant jewel-toned drapery, and harmonious figure grouping. The original work on panel is held in the prestigious collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met) in New York City.

Recreated by senior history and narrative art specialists at Estudio de pintura al óleo de la aldea de Dafen, this reproduction is executed strictly by hand on heavy-duty linen canvas. We never employ digital printing, canvas overlays, or mechanical shortcuts. Utilizing classical academic techniques—including meticulous underdrawing, precise figure positioning, and multi-pass oil glazing—our artists faithfully preserve the soft atmospheric glow, exquisite costume details, and lyrical charm of Cabanel’s original painting.
