Joaquín Sorolla – Retrato del Príncipe de Asturias (Alfonso de Borbón y Battenberg) Hand-Painted Oil Painting Reproduction | Dafen Studio

Painted in 1907 by renowned Spanish master Joaquín Sorolla (1863–1923), this delicate portrait features Alfonso de Borbón y Battenberg, Prince of Asturias (the eldest son of King Alfonso XIII of Spain and Queen Victoria Eugenie) at just two months of age. While internationally celebrated as the “Master of Sunlight” for his vibrant beach scenes, Sorolla was also an elite portraitist of his era. In this intimate royal study, he skillfully balances official courtly dignity with a tender, glowing tenderness, rendering soft fabrics, infant features, and gentle interior lighting with remarkable virtuosity.
