«La Natividad» (h. 1490), de Gerard David – Reproducción de un cuadro al óleo pintado a mano | Arte sobre lienzo de la aldea de Dafen

Painted around 1490 by Gerard David—the last great master of the Bruges School of Early Netherlandish painting—The Nativity (El nacimiento de Cristo) is a celebrated masterpiece of Renacimiento del Norte sacred art (now housed in the Museum of Fine Arts, Budapest).

Set in a rustic architectural ruin at nightfall, the composition captures the intimate moment following the birth of Jesus. The Virgin Mary and Saint Joseph kneel in profound reverence alongside worshipping angels around the newborn Christ child, who radiates divine light upon the scene. David’s work is acclaimed for its soft, poetic atmosphere, delicate handling of light and shadow, and deep devotional tranquility.
