Écolier de Canaletto – Le Molo, Venise, vue vers l'ouest avec la colonne de saint Théodore | Reproduction d'une peinture à l'huile réalisée à la main

About the Masterpiece & Composition

Created in the celebrated Veduta style established by Canaletto (1697–1768), this classic waterfront composition showcases one of Venice’s most iconic entry points.

Standing along The Molo, the perspective features the historic granite pillar crowned with the statue of Saint Theodore (Venice’s original patron saint). As the eye travels westward along the quayside, the composition reveals passing gondolas, floating barges, and bustling merchants in 18th-century attire, with the distant silhouettes of the Dogana da Mar et Santa Maria della Salute anchoring the soft Mediterranean horizon.

Handcrafted Excellence from Dafen Oil Painting Village

We reject flat digital canvas prints. Every oil painting in our collection is painstakingly painted from scratch by veteran painters in our Dafen Village Art Studio:

• Layered Oil Glazes: Traditional glaze application creates physical brushwork texture, multi-dimensional luminosity, and soft atmospheric light that age gracefully over time.

• Toile de lin de qualité musée: Crafted on heavy, archival-quality natural linen canvas to guarantee structural stability and prevent cracking or sagging over time.

• Masterful Architectural Perspective: The exact line work of the historic column, surrounding arcades, and gentle water reflections are executed by hand with mathematical harmony.
