As the eye travels westward along the quayside, the composition reveals passing gondolas, floating barges, and bustling merchants in 18th-century attire, with the distant silhouettes of the Dogana da Mar et Sainte-Marie-de-la-Salut anchoring the soft Mediterranean horizon.
